Vampire Survivors Codexery

Piranha

Swift aquatic hunters that turn Dacada's rivers into deadly traps for the unwary.

Piranha

The Piranha is a swift and voracious aquatic predator found lurking in the murky waters of the Dacada region. Unlike many land-bound monsters that rely on brute force, these creatures utilize their speed to dart through water tiles, targeting survivors who attempt to cross rivers or navigate swampy terrain. They serve as a constant reminder that danger in Vampire Survivors is not limited to the ground beneath one's feet.

Lore & Background

These creatures are often found in schools, creating a swirling vortex of teeth and fins that can overwhelm even seasoned survivors. Their presence suggests that the magical pollution affecting Dacada has mutated local fauna into aggressive entities capable of coordinated attacks. While they lack the intelligence of higher-tier monsters, their sheer numbers and speed make them a significant threat to those who underestimate the waters.

In Their Own Story

The survivor stepped onto the wooden raft, the water below looking deceptively calm under the moonlight. Suddenly, the surface erupted as dozens of Piranhas surged upward in unison, their scales glinting with an unnatural sheen. There was no time for caution; only the frantic casting of spells could keep the teeth at bay before they dragged the traveler into the dark depths.

Reader's Guide

Piranhas are exclusive to the Dacada stage and appear exclusively within water tiles. They move significantly faster than most land enemies, making them difficult to track with slow projectiles. Their attack pattern involves a direct charge toward the survivor's current position. If a player enters the water without adequate crowd control or area damage, they can quickly be surrounded by multiple units. They are weak against weapons that cover wide areas, such as the Garlic aura or area-of-effect spells like the Magic Wand when upgraded. Single-target attacks may struggle to keep up with their speed unless the survivor has high attack speed.
